High Speed IML Method: Direct IML Charging

Simco-Ion developed a new patented technology called for label placement in injection moulding called Direct IML Charging. This method has the advantage that there is no non-isolated high-voltage inside the mould and we can use a much lower high-voltage for a better adhesion(gluing label) of the labe in to the mould.

 

IML Method: Direct IML Charging

Outside the mould the robot picks-up a single, pre-printed PP label onto a dummy core that has been created with the special sections of semi-conductive materials like Simco-Ion IML-Foam or Simco's special resin, the EasyCore solution. The label will be transported (high-speed) into the mould cavity (single or multiple). When the label is on the final spot in the mould, the label will be electrostatical charged with the Simco CMME high Voltage generator that can be mounted to the Robot-Arm(EAOT) Small High-Voltage Static Generator connected to the semi-conductive dummy-core. After charging the label with a static charge, the label will transfer to the mould wall(grounded) where it sticks due to the electrostatic charge. Now the robot-arm will be pulled back and the mould will be closed and the moulding-process can take place as usual. The PP will melt together with the label into becoming the end-product.

The Charge Master Micro Easy(CMME)  has a patented technology which enables you to reduce cycle time through the unique Cycle OK Feedback. Furthermore the CMME can easily be mounted on the end of the robot-arm and that also reduces the cycle-time even more.
