Temporary static adhesion

Neutralisation from static electricity with ionisation equipment is a well-known technique but a lesser known application of static electricity is “temporary” static adhesion with the help of static charging equipment. The purpose is to apply an electrostatic charge deliberately to bond materials temporarily together.

In this way static charge can be an invisible helping hand in an production process.

This method for bonding or gluing materials together without adhesives is already used in many processes and in various industries like:

-Bond a small section of a film during winding on a roll to prevent telescoping

-Bond a stack of paper or magazines to prevent shifting during transport

-Fix an address-label to a brochure before the brochure is packed in a wrapping film

-Keep the last bag of a roll (f.i. garbage bags) fixed to the roll to make packaging much easier

-In mould labelling in injection moulding industry with static electricity

-edge-pinning during the flat extrusion of a plastic film

A charging system for Temporary static adhesion consist of a high voltage generator and an electrode. This high voltage generator supplies the high voltage needed to create the static charge. The charging electrodes can be produced in different shapes and forms to enable an optimum result for each specific application.
